CONTEST: #ShowYourInk For A Chance to Win

What the heck is dry hopping anyway?

It’s the act in which hops is added to a fermenter when the fermentation is done.

Why the heck would you do this?

The heat or boil changes the compounds in hops. It’s this process creates the bitterness of an IPA, for example. Dry hopping allows you to add the hoppy aroma to a beer without the bitterness typically extracted in the kettle.

Hops:

Styrian Goldings (Austria), Galaxy (Australia), Ella (Australia), Target (England)

Result:

A tangy golden amber ale that boasts hoppy flavour but left the bitterness at home.

Best enjoyed:

By a lake or floating around on an inflatable slice of pizza.
