Toasted Pecan Pesto To Make Your Mother Proud
Not only is a homemade toasted pecan pesto a great way to showcase basil, it’s also the ultimate luxury. Making your own pesto signals to your guests not only that you’re a culinary wizard, but that you really care. For this recipe it’s best you use a food processor like the Hamilton Beach single serve blender.
One bunch fresh basil
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil
1/4 c toasted pecans
1/3 c Parmesan cheese
4 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Step 1. Wash and dry your basil and peel the garlic
Step 2. Divide your ingredients. At the first 1/3 of the ingredients to the blender
Step 3. Add olive oil and bled until smooth
Step 4. Apply same process to the remaining 2/3 of the ingredients
Step 5. Store your pesto on the fridge using an airtight container or jar.
Pro Tip: if the container is not airtight your pesto will brown, add some extra olive oil to the top of your jar before sealing to ensure air does get on your pesto.
